Where are leaders coming from?

We live in a fast growing society where everyone seeks fame and money. Most of the investors look for brilliant managers and bright minds. But how can this be possible if we do not pay attention on how we raise and educate children? What are the role models they look up to? What are the ethical considerations? Are leaders so important, after all?

Well, leadership matters. When we talk about leaders we do not necessarily mean political leaders. There are leaders in every organisation and every unit. Leaders need to be trained having in mind the importance of ethos and goals. Leaders need to understand that leadership is not an entitlement. Leadership is about serving humanity. In every country, in every community there are corrupted leaders. This has to change immediately. Being a leader means that you have to think critically. You have to be able to face any problems that may arise and create an excellent and effective solution. When leaders think and set goals not for their own good but for the people they lead, then they have the ability to create a safe and inclusive environment for every citizen helping them to improve and think out of the box. A healthy leader has a great impact on each and every citizen. The key of being a leader is to motivate and encourage others and not boss them around. Potential leaders as well as citizens should be educated focusing on ethics, social responsibility, courage, critical thinking and complex decision-making. In that way, each society might function in a better way.

The bottom line is that if you want a society with equal opportunities you should invest on education and especially on educating leaders. They are the ones who can make the difference.

Here is a very inspirational talk about leadership in every section of a community. Devote a few minutes!
